Institutional and private investors continue to look to Latin America for access to growth opportunities and outperforming hedge fund managers. While this emerging market is not without risk, recent data from eVestment indicates a thriving environment for those that focus on the region:

• Hedge funds that invest in Latin America were up 7.29% in 2012 and 1.16% in January 2013
• Hedge funds investing only in Brazilian markets gained 13.02% in 2012 and 1.83% in January 2013
• January 2013 saw Latin American fund assets increase by $270 million, including $60 million in net investor inflows
